The club, which had already replaced conventional flares for cold fire years ago, now takes one more step and completely eliminates this type of element

Tropics has decided permanently eliminate the use of flares and any pyrotechnic material, including the so-called cold fire, from the 2026 season. This decision is part of a deep reflection on the security of nightlife spaces, reinforced after the recent events that occurred in Europe during the Christmas celebrations.

A responsible and preventive decision

Although in recent years Tropics had chosen to Replace conventional flares with cold fire alternatives, considered safer, the management of the club has decided go one step further and completely do without this type of element, prioritizing prevention and safety. “The safety of our customers and our team is above any visual effect”, Affirm Teddy Law, CEO and owner of Tropics. “If there is the slightest risk, no matter how small, it is not worth it. We prefer to get ahead and act responsibly.”

Security as a pillar of the Tropics project

Security has always been one of the Fundamental pillars of the Tropics project. The club has a Template of over 20 security professionals, and a team Access Controllers Receiving Continuous Training, prepared to act in the face of any type of incident, both in the accesses and inside the premises.

This comprehensive approach enables Tropics to anticipate, react quickly, and ensure a safe environment for customers, workers, and artists. “Investing in training, in personnel and in prevention is not optional, it is a responsibility”, Teddy Law points out.“Our team is ready to act in any situation, and decisions like this reinforce that commitment even more.”

A powerful experience without unnecessary risks

The elimination of flares will not be a loss of experience for the public. Tropics will continue betting on Innovative creative, technological and visual solutions to maintain the impact of the show without compromising security. “Emotion does not have to be linked to fire”, concludes Law. “The future of leisure is to innovate intelligently, responsible and safely.”
